On this day in 2008, Australia recorded a 16th straight Test win, which equalled their record.
However, their win at Sydney was somewhat overshadowed by a controversial incident involving two firebrand cricketers, Harbhajan Sing of India, and Andrew Symonds.
Allegedly, Harbhajan had racially abused Symonds, by calling him a monkey.
Harbhajan denied it, and said he had said ‘your mum’ instead.
The Indian spinner was suspended for 3 games, before tour pullouts were threatened; at which point it was reduced to a 50% match fee fine.
